Lala

Painter and eurythmist. Born in Tokyo and immersed in art since childhood, sketching from nature. In abstract paintings, Lala gives form to the "unseen essence" behind the visible world — facing the canvas with a quiet, empty mind, so that a soft healing light remains in the heart of whoever beholds the work.

She studied painting for about fifteen years under the late Hiroyuki Yoshino, an abstract painter and founder of the Moribito-kai. Through Yoshino she came to Rudolf Steiner's Theosophy, learning to paint with her awareness placed on the "unseen essence." In those same years (1985–1988) she also received guidance in art and life from the late Min Byung-San, a revered Korean poet and calligrapher. From 1985 she studied eurythmy under Akira Kasai at Tenshikan, and for many years since has continued her work of bodily expression and stage art. Today she looks to Aiko Kimura — a blind acupuncturist and healer — as her teacher, seeking "paintings in which the light of life is born from the canvas."

When she paints, at one with the canvas and empty of thought, she senses an "unseen essence" — and there are those who receive that same resonance not with the eyes but through the palms of their hands. The sensor of the one who paints and the sensor of the one who receives meet, and become one. Perhaps this is the surest sign that the light of life truly dwells in these paintings.

Solo exhibitions in Ginza (2022) and Portugal (2024). Her paintings travel from the gallery into books — the art book Quiet Light and A Fine Day for Fantasy, Together with Paintings. In 2026 she published A Guidebook for Healers — Living as a Being of Love and Light. Under the name Lala Creation she also creates video works.

Painting, movement, words and healing — weaving them into one, she makes each day like sowing seeds.

Eurythmy — the art of making music and speech visible through the moving body. Lala performs on stage and gives lessons.
